There is a theme of anniversaries in my news for this year, enjoy. All the events I am part of are FREE to enjoy.  In this current world it is important to make positive connections and encourage creativity in our lives.

This year I have been project managing the wonderful event that is Harrow Open Studios, this is our 17th year as an event, and my 5th year being part of it.  For an annual event in June, it takes a whole year to plan and a great team of volunteer artists to work together to make it happen.  It’s been my volunteer job to spin all the plates and line up the ducks, and make sure we are on track.

Thanks to all the hard work and commitment of our members, we are ready once again to open our creative spaces to everyone, to encourage some much-needed community cohesion, creative thought and activities.

I will be opening my studio on the following days, from 11am to 5pm, do come along if you can.

Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June

Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June

My garden is lovely to walk around, I have some interesting things to look at and purchase, and I enjoy talking about clay, so am very happy to answer your questions about what I do.

I also have some work in our wonderful exhibition at Headstone Manor and Museum, "Anniversaries".  Our work has been inspired by the museum collection and the 60th anniversary of Harrow as a London Borough, and the 80th anniversary of VE day.

The Museum is housed in this wonderful Tudor manor in a moat, with a lovely café and park in the grounds, it is well worth a visit.

We have a new Art Park just built in Harrow, and I am excited to see how it develops and enhances the borough. I have a piece of work in its first exhibition, on show during its opening event on 12th June.  See more details here: https://www.londonfestivalofarchitecture.org/event/art-park-launch-party/

This is its first year and I am hoping this space thrives and I can make good use of it for many years to come.

My next outing will be the annual DCPG ceramic exhibition in St Albans in September.  It is the 50th anniversary of the Dacorum and Chiltern Potters Guild this year and I have been enjoying the many and varied clay related activities that have been organised to celebrate this. Being the membership secretary of the guild, has been another of my volunteering commitments, and I am very pleased to say that we are thriving after 50 years in existence.  For our anniversary I made a video of our history and the people who have made the guild the success it is.  You can find out more here: https://youtu.be/Doc_F8OYO9k (you will have to skip the annoying advert :)
